Word Herding
a: The comma ~
b: sheepdog
What: "Punctuation was developed as a system to help readers mainly with the groupings of words. I say in Eats, Shoots & Leaves that the comma is like a sheepdog racing about on the hillside of the written word, herding some words together, keeping other words apart. Legal and business documents require clarity above all and punctuation is the main means of achieving this."
